Bangalore In Bloom

Bengaluru's biodiversity goes largely unappreciated despite the city's reputation as the garden city. Bangalore In Bloom is a community initiative placing English and Kannada signposts in public green spaces, with QR codes linking to a digital archive of local plants on Instagram.

The project was inspired by the way UK green spaces are documented and celebrated. The archive makes local plant knowledge accessible to residents and visitors alike. Next steps include expanding to larger parks, producing farmer interview reels and incorporating input from botanists.

PlateToPlanet

PlateToPlanet treats food waste as both an environmental and a resource-allocation issue. I introduced a formal procedure to measure and display daily cafeteria waste at Harrow Bengaluru; the recorded weights inform menus and preparation decisions with the food committee.

The project is now expanding towards adoption by other Bengaluru schools. Awareness campaigns run alongside the data collection to connect students with the environmental cost of waste.

PricedIn

PricedIn is an India-focused app that connects economic reporting with statistics that may tell a different story — placing media narratives alongside data on inflation, employment and housing.

Pre- and post-use surveys test the app's effects on economic awareness and confidence. The next phase will incorporate broader sources and world news to extend the comparison beyond India.
